Summary

Learning outcomes:  Participants will be able to trim hooves of small ruminants. Participants will understand conditions that affect hoof development and how healthy hooves affect the health of the animal.

Class description:  Participants in this course will get hands on training in the maintenance and care of small ruminant hooves. Participants will learn about hoof conditions, hoof care and maintenance, and techniques for trimming small ruminants. Students will be working outside and should dress accordingly.

Community Service Programs provides courses, seminars, and community activities that contribute to an individual's cultural, civic, and/or personal growth. These programs are self-supporting and are not reported to the state for budget FTE.

Requirements

Class requirements:  Close toed shoes, long pants, and snug fitting work gloves.
