About this Camp

Growing Dreams, Harvesting Success: Discover Agriculture at Bladen Community College. Engage in the vast and exciting world of agriculture at BCC! The Agriculture Summer Camp at BCC is an excellent opportunity for those who are passionate about the field of agriculture. Attendees will have the chance to learn about college and career paths in agriculture, working alongside experienced professionals such as professors, farmers, and agricultural experts. The camp is structured into four 1-week sessions, each with its unique focus.

In the Poultry Science Camp students will be immersed in the poultry industry, learning about practices and careers. Students will learn about the science behind the industry from embryology, flock management, feed milling, and food safety. Activities will include egg candling, a poultry farm tour, a feed mill tour, and guest speakers from the poultry industry.

This camp is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in agriculture or simply wants to learn more about the field. The hands-on experience and exposure to experienced professionals will provide attendees with valuable skills and knowledge that can be applied throughout their academic and professional careers.

This camp is funded by the Tobacco Trust Fund Commission Grant and students may register for each weekly session free of charge until May 31, 2024.* Lunch, tours and transportation, and lab materials will be provided.

This camp is for rising sophomore to rising high school senior high school students interested in a career or degree in Agriculture.

*COST: Students who register after May 31, 2024 will pay $250.00 per each weekly camp session.
